Then the result is the same, an abstraction. Most nudes, particularly those in a studio tend strongly towards isolating the model against a background. The expressive opportunities are in changing the strategy or approach Interpretive nudes are still open to being original, but tend to be exceedingly rare given the vast number of them on the web. Here's the grand challenge with nudes in general they basically are all copying each other. With so many ardent photographers producing an almost uncountable tsunami of nudes, it's become essentially impossible to be unique. The question was basically asked is what would make it more expressive? Is it technically well executed? It's excellent! Just my thoughts, and I've certainly not shot such images in the past, so. This is a case, I think, where you need to change the setup instead of modifying in post. However, short of that, I'm not sure there's much that can be done in post. Converting to B&W would possibly help, to some extent. However, I think the nearly monochrome backgrounds don't do ANYTHING for the model. The model is quite lovely, and the photos are technically quite nice. Perhaps some different backgrounds, or some kind of action being initiated would help bring out depth in the models. But, it also feels like looking at a mannequin in a sense as well. Technically, the shots are very well done, detail is marvelous, as is the composition/lighting. And I don't mean to be discouraging-just some thoughts. I'm not saying they are unpleasant to look at-hardly! But I don't get any sense of character. The images are very well executed and the model is lovely.

Generally you want about 1/3 more moisturizing element to the odor and moisture absorbing element, and you’ll want to measure your essential oils in drops between 5 and 50 depending on the batch-size and your skin and nose sensitivity. So armed with the four elements, you can embark on your own deodorant making journey. Another nice element about home made deodorant is that you can make it fairly smell-neutral, meaning it will not clash with another scent you might want to wear. I like adding lavender and peppermint essential oils, but some people really like rose, sweet orange, yang-yang, or sandalwood. Tea tree oil is one of the most antimicrobial, and even if you don’t like the smell, as Kathleen at Becoming Peculiar has recently written, it really does help with keep the bacteria at bay. These are usually essential oils, although depending on the oils they could have anti-microbial properties or be more or less abrasive to the skin. A general rule for making topical personal hygiene products is to only use on your skin what you could put in your mouth.Ĥ. You might consider using arrowroot powder if you have eliminated corn from your diet. Most people use cornstarch, sometimes making sure it’s non-GMO cornstarch, and the other alternative is arrowroot powder. This is not really a full blown “antiperspirant” like Aluminum zirconium found in commercial products, but it does help a little. So, you can add oils that are solid at room temperature, even in the summer, like beeswax, shea butter and/or cocoa butter.ģ. One, it melts at 76 degrees, which in the summer means your deodorant can be a bit of a puddle in the container and has a harder time staying where you put it, and two, you might have such sensitive skin that coconut oil alone isn’t enough to soothe the areas. The reason that some people don’t just stop at coconut oil is two fold. It’s naturally anti-microbial, which helps in deodorant, and it smells nice. It helps the baking soda stick together and stay in place and soothes the skin. An element to bind the first element together and reduce irritation. So, there are two choices: one, use a less abrasive material like bentonite clay, and/or you can add moisturizers to your baking soda to reduce the irritation.Ģ. After a week or two, you’ll have raw underarms. But the reason that most people don’t just shake straight sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO3) on their armpits is it’s a bit abrasive. An element to adjust the PH of your armpits and absorb odors. Generally most home made deodorants have four parts:ġ. It took another year to refine my recipe, balancing the needs of my crazy-sensitive skin and active walk-everywhere life-style. They were a lot less expensive than my shopping-spree in the natural beauty care isle, and I didn’t smell like pickles! About a year and half later I started reading recipes for making your own deodorant. After going to church smelling like kosher dills, I gave up for a while. I tried a number of off the shelf products, most of which failed to do what they said, and one of which made my armpits smell like pickles. So switching deodorants can be momentous, like a new scent era.įour years ago, when I decided to switch to natural deodorants, I wanted something good. And I fell in love with Evan’s old spice deodorant smell at the same time I did his kind heart and thoughtful mind. In college, I banned baby powder from our dorm room, and two of my roommates obligingly switched scents so I wouldn’t gag when I hugged them. To this day I cannot stand the smell of baby powder because on my first day of my new junior high in New Jersey I put on powder deodorant and was sick to my stomach with nerves. I can still remember how my ballet bag smelled like the Secret Deodorant with the yellow label. This was the first time that I read somewhere that a fairly ubiquitous product (in this case, antiperspirant) could have a negative effect on health (in this case, slow your metabolism) and decided to switch it for something with fewer chemicals.ĭeodorant is one of the first grown-up products my mom started buying for me. After stopping using shampoo, the next stop on the hygiene-crunchy-train was deodorant. Salt Bath Soak the hide in a saltwater solution for six to eight hours. Leave it for 24 hours and then move on to the next step. Fold flesh sides together again, roll and place in the five-gallon bucket. Then take it out, shake the old salt off, and reapply fresh. The bucket is crucial as it will help catch any moisture that leaks out of the hide. Fold flesh side together, and then roll it up, and put it in a five-gallon bucket. Pour the salt liberally over the flesh side of the hide until it’s completely covered. I buy the small canisters that are 1/2 lb each), which only costs a few bucks from any store. You’ll need a few pounds of table salt (any brand will work. Use a sharp knife to get the last few bits off before proceeding to the next step. You’ll want to be particularly careful around the edges of the hide as it’s easy to miss small pieces. All of the flesh-colored pieces should be gone, leaving this side of the deer hide smooth. Make sure the flesh side is clean and white before proceeding to the next step. Your deer hide should be completely clean without any remnants of meat. It can be a little messy, so you’ll want to wear safety glasses. It’s also important to keep the stream of water moving across the hide fairly quickly as holding the water in one spot will result in a hole. I recommend testing the pressure on a corner piece of the hide to ensure that it’s not going to rip. You’ll need one that is 1800 PSI to be able to peel the flesh back, and most household pressure washers will work for this project. Take the pressure washer, and simply pressure wash the flesh off of the hide. Beka Garrisĭrape the hide flesh side up over a hard surface such as a large plastic drum, or tack it to a piece of plywood. If you don’t own one, check your local hardware store for a rental. A pressure washer is the fastest and easiest way to flesh a deer hide. If you’re working with a fresh deer hide, proceed as follows. If your hide is in the freezer, you’ll want to make sure it’s thawed completely before starting the fleshing process. But never fear, there is a more modern solution. If you’ve ever fleshed a hide by hand before, you’ll know it can be a tedious task. Fleshing (Removing All Flesh From the Skin Side of the Hide.) Though that is definitely still one way to tan a deer hide, there are easier ways that are just as efficient and cheaper than sending it to a tannery.ġ. When most people hear of tanning a deer hide, it makes them automatically think of the traditional method using brains.
Sure, PGP does it too – but for IT experts. That’s why we introduced the simple file sharing feature. AxCrypt is at it’s best when sharing files outside of your computer. I do agree that full disk encryption is often a good complement for local file security. Instead of a limited problematic self-decrypting exe, we now have a fully featured standalone portable software (that you can send along to your recipients if they in fact can and want to accept executable files). There are just so many things wrong with the self-decryptable executable though. It seems you treat “self-decryptable files” as the alternative to “ people with whom I share files to download AxCrypt“. Thank you for your feedback! Sorry you’re disappointed of course. You can also create an encrypted self-extractable file. 7-Zip also has the added option of compressing the archive as well. People wanting to replicate the functionality of version 1.7 would be well advised to use 7-Zip as it’s free, open-source, peer reviewed and offers AES-256. Unless AxCrypt continue to support 1.7 I will regrettably discontinue using your software. There are far better, peer-reviewed alternatives to your new concept (e.g. No matter what I shan’t be using version 2 as I dislike the concept. You could then offer a ‘Classic Interface’ option (with all of the original functionality) or maintain the two pieces of software independently of one another. If money is a concern to the people behind AxCrypt then I suggest that you re-build the capabilities of 1.7 into 2.0 and charge a registration fee (either one-off or recurring). I therefore reject the argument that removing the ability to have file-specific passwords makes it more secure because this simply isn’t the use case here. Most people who use AxCrypt will have full disk encryption and will therefore rely upon AxCrypt not to protect their own files (where multiple passwords may be an issue, especially if insecure) but to share files with others. The development team suggest this is insecure but changing from a symmetric to asymmetric scheme brings about it confusion, extra steps for the user and inconvenience. I also dislike that you can’t have individual passwords. I cannot reasonably expect the people with whom I share files to download AxCrypt in order to be able to decrypt the files. I fully appreciate the concept behind version 2 but my primary use of the old version was to share files. As a long-time user of AxCrypt 1.7 I decided to try out version 2.0 and I couldn’t be more dissatisfied. Those changes include an expansion of the newspaper’s factchecking procedures and a reduction in the number of opinion pieces written by non-staff members, AP reported. James and I agreed that it would take a new team to lead the department through a period of considerable change.” “Last week we saw a significant breakdown in our editing processes, not the first we’ve experienced in recent years. “While this has been a painful week across the company, it has sparked urgent and important conversations,” Sulzberger wrote in the memo, reported by CNN. The New York Times publisher AG Sulzberger acknowledged the turmoil in an internal memo sent to Times staff on Sunday. Nikole Hannah-Jones, a black New York Times magazine writer, said she was “deeply ashamed” of the newspaper in a tweet that amassed almost 120,000 likes. “The decision to publish calling for troop deployments to quell unrest falls short of sound journalistic practice,” he tweeted. Sewell Chan, a former NY Times editorial page director, was among those who spoke out against his former employers for running the article in the first place. “The New York Times editorial page editor and owner defended it in public statements but then they totally surrendered to a woke child mob from their own newsroom that apparently gets triggered if they’re presented with any opinion contrary to their own, as opposed to telling the woke children in their newsroom this is the workplace, not a social justice seminar on campus,” Cotton fumed in an interview on Fox News Sunday. Cotton claimed he had not called for troops to be used against protesters but should be called on as a back-up “only if police are overwhelmed”.Įarlier in the day, Cotton blasted Bennet and the Times for reversing their initial decision to defend publication of the column in the aftermath of the staff revolt. The announcement gave no explanation for Bennet’s resignation or Dao’s transfer, but the news drew swift comment from Trump, who tweeted that the opinion editor had “quit over the excellent Op-Ed penned by our great Senator New York Times is fake news,” the president added, repeating a familiar claim.Ĭotton also weighed in, accusing the Times of lying and smearing his character. On Sunday, the Times announced that James Bennet, its editorial page director since May 2016, had resigned with immediate effect, and that one of his deputy editors, Jim Dao, had been reassigned to the newsroom.
